Applications

  • The NLGI classification classifies lubricating greases according to their consistency (stiffness).
  • NLGI 000, 00 and 0 greases are so-called semi-fluid greases. They are used for the lubrication of gears in non-oil-tight enclosures and in central grease lubrication systems with thin and/or long pipes. 
  • NLGI 2 and 3 greases are widely used for the lubrication of rolling bearings.
  • Greases intended for chassis lubrication of vehicles usually also fall into the NLGI 2 class.
