Applications
- Shell Helix Ultra Professional AR-L 5W-30 for diesel engines is approved against the technically challenging ACEA C4 and Renault 0720 specifications.
- It is formulated specifically for use in diesel engine vehicles using diesel particulate filter (DPF) technology.
- Its low-SAPS formulation helps protect DPF systems from plugging.

Passes the OM646LA wear test (CECL-099-08) for cam wear (inlet/outlet), cylinder wear, bore polish, tappet wear (inlet/outlet), piston cleanliness, engine sludge. - Engine cleanliness
Passes the Peugeot TU5JP-L4 high-temperature deposits (CEC L-88-T-02) test for ring sticking, piston varnish, viscosity increase and oil consumption.
Passes the VW TDI piston cleanliness (CEC L-78-T-99) test for piston cleanliness, ring sticking, end of test TBN/TAN. Passes the ASTM Sequence VG sludge test (ASTM D6593) for engine sludge and varnish.
Passes the MB M111 sludge test (CEC-L-53-95) for engine sludge. - Soot control Passes the DV4TD medium-temperature dispersivity test (CEC L-093-04) for viscosity increase.
